All Saints of North America / 3rd Sunday after Pentecost

Beatitudes on 10; Resurrection: 6; Saints: 4.

1. We offer Thee the cry of the thief, and we pray: Remember us in Thy kingdom, O Savior.

2. For the forgiveness of transgressions we offer unto Thee the Cross which Thou didst accept for our sake, O Thou who lovest mankind.

3. We bow down in worship, O Master, before Thy burial and rising, whereby Thou hast delivered the world from corruption, O Thou Who lovest mankind.

4. By Thy death hath death been slain, O Lord, and by Thy resurrection hast Thou saved the world, O Savior.

5. Risen from the tomb, Thou didst meet the myrrh-bearing women; and Thou didst tell Thy disciples to announce Thine arising.

6. Those who slept in darkness, beholding Thee, the Light, in the nethermost parts of hades, O Christ, were raised from the dead.

7. Let us praise in sacred hymns our father Herman of Alaska, who hath bestowed his blessing upon the New World and hath left us his holy relics as a source of healing for many who honour his memory.

8. We entreat you to intercede for your people, hieromartyr Juvenaly and youth Peter, whose struggle for the Faith included the shedding of your blood. Teach us to confess with boldness the Orthodox Faith and to have no fear of the enemy.

9. We praise John the Wonderworker of San Francisco, boast of the Saints, who didst bring forth to the faithful the glory of the wonderworkers John of Kronstadt and Herman of Alaska: O thou who didst bring forth the knowledge of these great saints and didst pave the way for their glorification in the Holy Church, we beseech thee, O great wonderworker, help us in these last times!

10. Theotokion: Grant us the help of thy prayers, all-holy Lady, for our enemies have overwhelmed us. But through thee, O all-pure One, can we be delivered. Intercede with thy Son that we may be saved.

Troparia

Tone 2: When Thou didst descend unto death, O Life Immortal, /
then didst Thou slay Hades with the lightning of Thy Divinity. /
And when Thou didst also raise the dead out of the nethermost depths, /
all the Hosts of the heavens cried out: //
O Life-giver, Christ our God, glory be to Thee.

Glory… Tone 8: As a beautiful fruit of the sowing of Thy salvation, /

the lands of North America offer Thee, O Lord, all the saints that have shone in them. /

By their prayers keep the Church and the world in profound peace, //

through the Theotokos, O Most-merciful One.

Both now… Tone 8: O Good One, Who for our sake wast born of the Virgin /

and, having endured crucifixion, cast down death by death, /

and as God revealed the resurrection: /

disdain not that which Thou hast fashioned with Thine own hand. /

Show forth Thy love for mankind, O Merciful One; /

accept the Theotokos who gave Thee birth and prayeth for us; //

and save Thy despairing people, O our Savior!

Kontakia

Tone 2: Thou didst rise from the tomb, O omnipotent Savior, /
and Hades was terrified on beholding the wonder; /
and the dead arose, /
and creation at the sight thereof rejoiceth with Thee. /
And Adam also is joyful, //
and the world, O my Savior, praiseth Thee for ever.

Glory… Tone 3:

Today the choir of Saints who were pleasing to God in the lands of North America /

now standeth before us in the Church and invisibly prayeth to God for us. /

With them the angels glorify Him, /

and all the saints of the Church of Christ keep festival with them; //

and together they all pray for us to the Preëternal God.

Both now... Tone 6:

O protection of Christians that cannot be put to shame, /

O mediation unto the creator unfailing, /

disdain not the suppliant voices of sinners, /

but be thou quick, O good one, to help us who in faith cry unto thee; /

hasten to intercession and speed thou to make supplication, //

thou who dost ever protect, O Theotokos, them that honor thee.
