Ss. Cosmas and Damian, Saturday Tone 6
Beatitudes on 8: Unmercenaries 4, from Ode 3; Octoechos 4.
1. As is meet, let us all hymn the well springs of healings, the streams of divine gifts, the most splendid receptacles of the immaterial Light.
2. As benefactors curing sufferings and pangs of body and soul, O most honored ones, ye heal those who have recourse to you now with fervor.
3. Adorned with the fruits of the virtues, ye manifestly pruned away every corrupting pleasure of life, looking unceasingly toward the beauty of God.
4. He Who before was invisible appeared in our form, O Theotokos, when He united His Godhead to the flesh in thine all-holy womb, O Bride of God.
5. Remember me, O God my Savior, when Thou shalt come in Thy kingdom, and save me, in that Thou alone lovest mankind.
6. Undaunted by fire, the sword, or the savage onslaught of wild beasts, O glorious passion-bearers, ye have been vouchsafed life everlasting.
7. We glorify the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, saying: O Holy Trinity, save Thou our souls!
8. Thou has been shown to be blessed among all generations; for in truth thou didst ineffably give birth to our blessed God, O all-pure one.
At the entrance, the choir sings:
O come let us worship and fall down before Christ, Who art wondrous in the saints, O Son of God, save us who sing to Thee: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
Troparia & Kontakia
Tone 2: O Apostles, Martyrs, and Prophets, /
Venerable and Righteous Ones; /
ye that have accomplished a good labor and kept the Faith, /
that have boldness before the Savior; O Good Ones, //
intercede for us, we pray, that our souls be saved.
Tone 8:
O holy unmercenaries and wonder-workers Cosmas and Damian, visit ye our infirmities://
Freely ye have received, freely give unto us!
Tone 2: Having received the grace of healings, /
ye extend health to those in need, O all-glorious physicians and wonder-workers. /
By your visitation cast down the audacity of the enemy, //
healing the world with miracles.
Glory… Tone 8:
With the saints give rest, O Christ, to the souls of Thy servants, //
where there is neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting.
Both now… Tone 8:
To Thee, O Lord, the planter of creation, /
the world doth offer the God-bearing martyrs as the first-fruits of nature. /
By their intercessions, preserve Thy Church, Thy commonwealth, in profound peace, //
through the Theotokos, O Greatly-merciful One.
