All-Holy Theotokos by St. Anna

6; St. Anna 4, from Ode 3, First Canon.
1. We offer Thee the cry of the thief, and we
pray: Remember us in Thy kingdom, O
Savior.
2. For the forgiveness of transgressions we
offer unto Thee the Cross which Thou didst
accept for our sake, O
Thou who lovest mankind.
3. We bow down in worship,
O Master, before Thy burial and rising, whereby Thou hast
delivered the world from
corruption, O Thou Who lovest mankind.
4. By Thy death hath death
been slain, O Lord, and by Thy resurrection hast Thou saved
the world, O Savior.
5. Risen from the tomb,
Thou didst meet the myrrh-bearing women; and Thou didst tell
Thy disciples to announce
Thine arising.
6. Those who slept in
darkness, beholding Thee, the Light, in the nethermost parts of
hades, O Christ, were
raised from the dead.
7. "If Thou wilt grant fruit to my womb,”
Anna cried to the Lord, “I shall be magnified,
and will offer it to
Thee." Therefore, she conceived the pure Mother of God.
8. Having observed the
provisions of the law and served God blamelessly, O most
honorable Anna, thou truly
bearest in thy womb her who wilt give birth unto the
Giver of
the law. Wherefore, we, the
faithful, call thee blessed.
9. When thou didst pray in
the garden, thou didst hear the voice of the Most High, O
divinely wise Anna; and He
gave fruit to thy womb: the portal which by grace shall
open paradise.
10. Dispel all the
barrenness of my fruitless mind, and show forth my soul to be fruitful
in the virtues, O
most-holy Theotokos, thou help of the faithful.

Tone 2: When
Thou didst descend unto death, O Life Immortal, /
then didst Thou slay Hades
with the lightning of Thy Divinity. /
And when Thou didst also
raise the dead out of the nethermost depths, /
all the Hosts of the
heavens cried out: //
O Life-giver, Christ our
God, glory be to Thee.
Glory… Both now… Tone 4: Today, the bonds of barrenness are loosed, /
for God, hearkening unto
Joachim and Anna, /
doth manifestly promise
them that they will, beyond all expectation, /
give birth to the divine
Maiden, /
from whom the Infinite One
Himself, becoming man, shall be born. /
And He commandeth the
angels to cry unto her: //
Rejoice, thou who art full
of grace, the Lord is with thee!
