Feast of the All-Merciful Savior and the Most Holy Theotokos

Beatitudes on 12: Octoechos 4; Feast 4, from Ode 3; Cross 4, from Ode 6.

1.  Remember us, O Christ, Thou Savior of the world, as Thou didst remember the thief upon the Cross; and account us all worthy of Thy heavenly kingdom, O Thou Who alone art compassionate.

2.  Hearken, O Adam, and rejoice with Eve; for he who of old stripped you both naked, and by deception hath taken all of us captive, hath been set at nought by the Cross of Christ.

3.  Nailed of Thine own will to the Tree, O our Savior, Thou didst deliver Adam from the curse which came through the tree, and hast rewarded that which is in Thine image with a dwelling in paradise, in that Thou art compassionate.

4.  Today is Christ risen from the tomb, granting incorruption unto all the faithful; and He reneweth the joy of the myrrh-bearing women after His suffering and resurrection.

5.  All the angelic captains join chorus with us today, surrounding Thy Holy Church, O Master, not physically, but spiritually.  And do Thou grant us Thy peace from on high, in that Thou art most merciful.

6. The choir of the prophets and that of the apostles and all the choirs of the martyrs, O Savior, join chorus with us today, gazing in spirit upon Thee, the God of many names, Who art glorified by the faithful.

7. By David thou wast called the rich mountain, O Virgin, who received in thy womb the timeless Word of the Father Who became a little babe, and who gavest birth in the flesh unto the hypostatic Wisdom of God.

8. The noetic tyrant was crushed, dealt an incurable wound by the heavenly Stone, Christ our God, Who issued forth from thy womb and joined those on earth to those in heaven.

9.  Seeing the Cross set forth today as a divine vessel, as a radiant lamp in churches, temples and cities, we hymn the One Who hath caused it to shine.

10. Death is slain, corruption is put to death, and the hordes of the demons, unable to endure its touch, flee, beholding the victorious and awesome Cross of Christ set forth today.

11. Hymning Thee, God the King and Lord, in that Thou hast given us the Cross as an impregnable bulwark, we now kiss it with joy and thus escape evils.

12. Our first mother in Eden was poisoned by absorbing the serpent’s venom; but the Virgin, having given birth to the Author of life, hath poured forth incorruption and resurrection upon the world.
