After the Dismissal of the Liturgy, the priest goes out to the analogion on which the precious Cross has been placed, and censes the precious Cross on all four sides, thrice; and then he places it upon his head, and carries it into the holy altar, though the royal doors, accompanied by the singing of the troparion of the feast (O Lord, save Thy people) G/N: Kontakion (O Thou Who wast lifted up willingly on the Cross); standing in the Royal Doors the priest blesses the faithful with the Cross, and places the Cross upon the Holy Table, and censes it around the Holy Table. Thus do we take leave of the feast of the Elevation.
