Announcements
Annual Parish Meeting: The Annual
Parish Meeting will be held
on
Sunday, February 8th, and will be called to order immediately after the
dismissal at the Liturgy. All members of the parish who are 21 years or
older, who have declared their membership can participate in the
meeting.
St. Jonah Winter Camp: Teens
11-18 years old are welcome to join St. Jonah Winter Camp. It will be
held from February 13th though the 16th in Alvin, TX. At camp we
will celebrate the Meeting of the Lord Vigil and Liturgy and talk about
the meaning of this feast day. The program also includes faith Q and A,
sports, games, crafts, survival skills class and campfires. You can
register at the camp website stjonahcamp.org.
18 and older can
participate as volunteers. Camp registration fee is $110 per person and
will go up to $150 closer to the start of the camp. Please talk to Fr.
John or Svetlana if you need a scholarship.
The House Blessing Schedule is
posted. All dates are tentative, until confirmed, and can be changed to
accommodate the needs of the families that have confirmed a date, and
so
until you confirm a date, you will need to refresh this page to ensure

Mother Barbara will be leading a study
of the book "The Art of Myrrhbearing: Encountering Christ Through
Serving Others," by Elissa Bjeletich. Discussions will be held
on Google Meets. Starting Feb 19 and concluding April 23rd from 7-8 pm
Thursday evenings with two exceptions. Pick up a copy from our
bookstore.

Liturgy we be on Saturday,

next Parish
Council Meeting

Reader and Singing Classes:
Demetra Durham is conducting two sets of classes: one for learning
the tones, and one for readers. These will alternate weeks when
possible, beginning with Readers on February 1. The Readers class is
for all new readers already on the rotation, and any who may be
interested in reading – covering not only the orders of the services,
but also vocal technique so that they can actually be heard,
understood, etc. Anyone interested should let her know.
Choir: The
next choir rehearsal will be during Trapeza, on Sunday, February 15th.
Catechumens: If you
are a catechumen, or are not a catechumen, but would like to
participate in classes for Catechumens, be sure to join the Catechumen io group online.

Catechumen Get-Together: On
Saturday, February 14th, at 3:00 p.m. the Catechumens and those willing
to serve as Godparents are invited to share a meal in the parish house.
